Every October since 1997 in Chianti country (Tuscany), a wonderful bike ‘race’ is held using old bikes on dirt tracks, inspiring thoughts of times gone by and perhaps a slightly different pace to life. We visited Radda in Chianti this September; I drove (unfortunately) along some of the route and bought the cycling shirt etc., but my real ambition is to one day ride it. Sometimes my kindle simply doesn’t cut it. This is usually when I want a beautifully printed photography book such as Magnum Contact Sheets. And then comes along something like this – Peter Turnley’s ‘French Kiss’ – I adore this genre of photography. Will somebody please buy me a Leica Monochrom????
